Modestly Adorned Monday – Burgundy and Browns

Good morning!  Today I wanted to share with you what I wore this past Lord’s Day.  Most of the pieces were $5 and under!

caaboct141 What I Wore:

Burgundy Sweater-$3 (Thrift Store)

Burgundy Undershirt with Lace Detailing-$5 (Wal Mart)

Brown Undershirt-$5 (Cato)

Brown Skirt-$4 (Thrift Store)

Hat-$3 (Wal Mart)

Brown Boots-$20 (Belk)

caaboct143 I love these boots!  I bought them last year at Belk.com during their Black Friday sale for $20.

caaboct142 My three-year-old wanted to take a photo with me.  He is such a sweetie!

Lately our one-year-old hasn’t wanted to sit still during our church service for very long.  Yesterday she didn’t even make it through thirty minutes!  The Lord ordained for me to be her mother, so I stay with her if she is fussy.  Our church doesn’t have a nursery anyhow, which is a good thing in my opinion.   Thankfully, all of the messages from our church are downloaded onto Sermon Audio so I can tune in later in the week if I need to step outside on Sunday morning.   The message was Part 1 of a series about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with the text being Romans 1:16-17.

caaboct144 The rest of the day we…

  • Stopped by a corn maze, snapped a few photos and then left.  My, it was pricey!  We plan on taking the kids to a less expensive option next week.  All was not lost however, since I bought corn stalks to decorate our gate.
  • Set out fall decorations at our gate, and dressed up our seven-year-old as a scarecrow for a photo op.  Fun stuff!
  • Rented a movie, bought a cookie cake and cupcakes, and had a movie night!

What was the message at your church about yesterday?  How did you spend the rest of the day?
