Meet Shasta, who blogs over at The Phillips Journey! Today she is sharing the birth story of her daughter Holli Kate. This is such a wonderful testimony. What a great God we serve!
And came baby girl number four..
Well, as of May 20, 2013 we became parents of yet another beautiful baby girl. Weighing 7lbs 4oz.
If I had to describe my life in just a few short words, I would say it’s blessed, beautiful chaos.
Now on to the beautiful testimony of our little bundle of joy.
Ok.. I was scheduled to be induced at 7am. Plans were to break my water and start Pitocin. When the doctor came in at 7, she checked me and baby would “float” back up. She had a suspicion something was up with the umbilical cord and from there she decided not to break my water and just start the Pitocin to see if baby would move down. After hours of hardly any progress at all and irregular contractions, she then checked me again at about 4pm. She then decided to break my water with just a small leak. At 5:30pm I was ready to push! At 5:45pm she was born. During all the excitement the doctor told me to take a look and there was a perfect knot in her umbilical cord. At first I thought “no big deal.” About an hour later the nurse came in to clean her up . She then proceeded to say “Those knots are very rare, you should know that you have a miracle baby.” I have to say I felt the spirit of the Lord all over me and an overwhelming amount of joy that the Lord kept His hand upon her through my pregnancy. In the days to come after having her check-ups and talking with the doctors, I then realized the true knot was a very big deal. Babies rarely survive when a knot is developed because it cuts off the blood and oxygen supply.
Want to know what happened one week before she was born?
I was in church service and kept feeling a nudge from the Lord to be anointed and prayed for. My specific prayer was for “A good delivery and healthy baby.” So, I’m here to praise my God for doing just that. We have a thriving, healthy, beautiful baby girl. I also felt my doctor was God sent because she was so cautious with the delivery and had no way of knowing that the knot was even there.
God is still in the miracle business.
Thank you for taking the time to read. If you are in a situation now, just know that it’s not too big for God, just pray. Leave a comment and I will be happy to pray with you.
