It is now officially 2015! 2014 seems to have gone by in a flash. I haven’t been blogging quite as often since my seventh child was born in September…I have missed it so much! That being said, The Lord has laid a few plans on my heart and I would love to share them with you!
The heart of this blog is discussion concerning the blessing of children, motherhood, and living for the Lord. I believe that women need to be encouraged and inspired in these areas. This generation is loosing grasp on the importance of Christ-centered homes.
With my whole heart I would like to become a better encourager. With that in mind, two new series are coming to the Children are a Blessing Blog!
First up will be a Bible Study through entire books of God’s Word. How can we become better mothers and sisters in Christ if we do not consistently look directly at the source of our hope? I hope to share in this area by basically going verse by verse through books of the Bible. Our family studies the Bible in this manner, and it is helpful to truly look at verses in context. I hope to share how verses specifically can impact our walk with the Lord as women and mothers. This study will be Christ-centered rather than man-centered. Basically, we will be looking at God’s Word with the mindset of what we can do for God, rather than what God can do for us.
I plan on beginning in Philippians, the book which is centered on joy! If we apply the principles of joy and rejoicing in our homes, our lives can be transformed.
Secondly, I will be starting a series called “Resources for Raising Arrows.” I will share resources our family uses in our character studies, as well as any tips that we find helpful when discipling our children.
I might post short quotes and thoughts more often as well. I also have a resource for tween girls about halfway completed. This note booking journal includes inspirational quotes about girlhood and womanhood, a place to record thoughts about the quotes, and pretty flowers to be colored with colored pencils.
Thank you so much for stopping by, and for encouraging and sharing with me! I have learned so much from you ladies, and I pray that this will be a place of grace as we strive to grow closer to the Lord.
