Modest Monday – Black Chevron – 23 Week Pregnancy Update with Baby #8

blackchevron1

Today I am in my 23rd week of pregnancy, and am feeling great overall!  I find myself gravitating towards comfortable stretchy fabrics.  I wore this outfit while running a few errands and going to guitar and dance lessons.  I like the pop of pink the undershirt adds to the outfit.

What I Wore:

Black Chevron Skirt: Walmart

Undershirts: I’m not sure

Black Half Cardigan: Cato

Hope Earrings and Necklace: Cato

(I can barely see my feet peeking out from underneath my baby bump now.  Miss Mabrey is growing so fast!)

(I really like these hope earrings that I picked up from Cato.  They are a really great size!)

Yesterday I spent all day cleaning out our toy room, so after getting up and down about 1000 times I’m kind of sore.  I’m also growing more uncomfortable at night, but that’s par for the course.  I’ve had heartburn on a few occasions, but overall this has been totally bearable.

I’ve been reading a Psalm or two each morning lately, and I love the following verse with y’all:

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

Psalm 16:6

While I understand the psalmist was very likely discussing an inheritance of land, this verse spoke to me in regards to my family.  I cling to verses like this whenever I feel overwhelmed while I’m mothering or pregnant.  Neither of these two things are easy, but what a delightful heritance they are!

I know that many Christians are discouraged by the way our national election is going, but I would like to remind y’all that all of this is in God’s hands.  I really think we would do well to keep our eyes on the Lord and our family inheritance.  When we treat this inheritance with high regard and return to the Bible’s teachings regarding raising our families for the Lord, then God, who is so gracious and merciful, might begin to bless our nation.  Electing a Christian official would not do anything to remedy the situation unless the people of the nation turns from their sin first.  The training of our children, who are the future citizens of America starts with us, mommas.  Let’s do our best to follow hard after God and treat our inheritance rightly.

  3. So cute! I’m 28 weeks and I’m so with you on comfy clothes. We’ll be flying cross country in less than two weeks and I can’t stop thinking about what to wear to be most comfortable for traveling all day. I’ve never flown in a maxi skirt, but yours looks so comfy!
