Faith in Jesus

Are you a good person?

I am a sinner saved by grace.  Through the gift of faith in my Lord Jesus Christ, I have commited my life to Him.  Please take a moment to read the link below concerning how to become a Christian. (What must I do to be saved?)

What must I do to be saved?

May I suggest a few resources that might aid your growth in the Lord?

Grace Family Baptist Church

(Pastor of Preaching Voddie Baucham)

Voddie Baucham wears many hats.  He is a husband, father, pastor,  author, professor, conference speaker and church planter.  He currently  serves as Pastor of Preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring,  TX.  He has served as an adjunct professor at the College of Biblical  Studies in Houston, TX, and Union University in Jackson, TN.  He has  also lectured at Southern Seminary.

Voddie makes the Bible clear and demonstrates the relevance of God’s  word to everyday life.  However, he does so without compromising the  centrality of Christ and the gospel.  Those who hear him preach find  themselves both challenged and encouraged.

Voddie’s area of emphasis is Cultural Apologetics.  Whether teaching  on classical apologetic issues like the validity and historicity of the  Bible, or the resurrection of Christ; or teaching on biblical  manhood/womanhood, marriage and family, he helps ordinary people  understand the significance of thinking and living biblically in every  area of life.

It is impossible to understand Voddie’s approach to the Bible without  first understanding the path he has walked.  Raised in a non-Christian,  single-parent home, Voddie did not hear the gospel until he was in  college.  His journey to faith was a very unusual and intellectual one.   Consequently, he understands what it means to be a skeptic, and knows  what it’s like to try to figure out the Christian life without relying  on the traditions of men.  As a result, he speaks to ‘outsiders’ in ways  few Bible teachers can.

Voddie Baucham holds degrees from Houston Baptist University (BA in  Christianity/BA in Sociology), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary  (M.Div.), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min.), an  honorary degree from Southern California Seminary (D.D.), and additional  post-graduate study at the University of Oxford, England (Regent’s Park  College).

Voddie and his wife, Bridget have been married since 1989.  They have  eight children, Jasmine, Trey (Voddie, III), Elijah, Asher, Judah,  Micah, Safya and Amos.  They are committed home educators.

Countryside Bible Church

(Pastor-teacher Tom Pennington)

Tom Pennington has served as Pastor-Teacher at Countryside Bible Church since October 2003. Prior to arriving in Texas, he served 16 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, including as an elder. He spent his last four years there as Senior Associate Pastor and as personal assistant to John MacArthur. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director of Grace to You, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the international radio, tape, publications, and internet ministry. Tom completed his B.A. and M.A. at Bob Jones University and served as a member of the faculty while taking additional Ph.D. classes in New Testament Interpretation.  In 2013, he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) from The Master’s College.

  1. Dear Nicole,

Your blog has lead me to want to become Christian, and revealed to me the true beauties of God!

All your posts were filled with truth, and reading them made me wonder many things, and within a few months of reading, I went to Google and I decided to become Christian.

Everything impacts somebody– you got me from screaming about the rights for contraceptive usage and for abortion to praying for the women faced in crisis pregnancies, and hoping for them to keep their baby. More importantly your blog introduced me to Jesus and His teachings, which lead me to gain support and advice about Salvation from others.

I had no opportunity to thank you, and wanted to take a minute, before the New Year begins to thank you with all my heart, because your posts initially got me started, and through a lot of help of a few other equally amazing people, I feel amazing as a converted Christian.

  2. I would love for you to link up at Theology Thursdays FOR KIDS!!! Hope to see you there!
