Modest Momma – Love

As a momma of seven blessings, I am always on the lookout for a good deal!  I was incredibly excited to find this shirt on the clearance rack at Cato for under $7.00.

Since it is growing colder at our home, I paired this t-shirt with a long sleeved shirt underneath.  This shirt served as a modest undershirt as well, so it was a win-win.

I purchased the boots from Bealls, and the skirt came from Cato as well.  The denim skirt would be knee-length on most women, but I am short so it hits me right below the knee.

Wearing this shirt got me to thinking about love, and what an important role it plays in all of our lives.  Since this is a modest fashion post however, I thought I would take just a moment to relate it to this topic.

Ladies, when we dress modestly, we are…

Showing love to our brothers in Christ.  While I’m not by any means saying that it is entirely up to us to make sure that our brothers do not stumble, when we dress modestly, we are showing that we care enough about them to cover up.  This is important!

Showing love to our daughters.  More than anything, our daughters need examples of godly women in this day and age, and who better of an example than you.  Our daughters look up to us, and by dressing modestly, we are displaying a godly character trait that Lord willing, we will pass onto them.

And most importantly, we are showing love to our Lord.   When we dress in a God-honoring fashion, we are showing love by being obedient to God’s Word.

  1. Darling outfit and wonderful thoughts on love! Thank you for sharing on the Art of Home-Making Mondays! 🙂

  2. Sweet post, neighbor. I’m all for skirts but while living up north it is just not practical to wear them when the weather is below zero. Abundant blessings to you and yours!
